FRISCO, Texas – New Orleans’ Rehema Franklin is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.Franklin lifted the Privateers (2-2) to a perfect run last week, including an impressive double-double performance (14 points, 11 rebounds) on the road over Ole Miss, falling just three assists shy of a triple-double. UNO ultimately topped the Rebels 69-64 in the Privateers’ first win over an SEC opponent in 24 years.She opened up the week with 16 points over 12 minutes in a 91-31 home victory against Pensacola Christian. The senior guard put up balanced numbers for the week, averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.5 assists.Franklin and the Privateers are back on the hardwood Thursday night at home against Louisiana.
