Bisaso: My task was to save Express from relegation

first_img Tags: Express FCshafic bisasotop Shafic Bisaso took over at Express in January 2018 (File Photo)KAMPALA – Express FC is nowhere near stable, that is if recent activities at the club are to be looked into.The Red Eagles who narrowly survived relegation last season are now involved in another off field battle with out-going coach Shafic Bisaso.This comes barely a month after appointing ‘prodigal son’, Kefa Kisala as the head tactician.Bisaso who was in charge of the club for the second half of the season has come out and claimed Express owes him money (salary) on top of bleaching the contract he has with the most supported club in the country.“Express owe money in terms of unpaid salaries, said Bisaso in an exclusive interview with PML Daily.“They did not pay me for three months before the end of last season and then the two that came after, that is five months in total.“The other issues is that they did not inform me about my sacking and i just learnt about the appointment of Kefa Kisala in the news.“I have heard stories circulating that i abscond from duty but i can tell you, that is all wrong, continued the soft spoken tactician.“I wrote to Express about my intentions to travel abroad and then later, i heard that they were bringing in a new coach.“When i came to Express, i signed a two year deal which had a clause that required me saving the club from relegation and i achieved that.“All i was waiting for is a phone call from officials telling me when they expected me to resume my duties.When asked about whether he plans to take legal action, the former SC Villa and Soana tactician had this to say.“It’s all down to Express because I have not thought about court.“It’s up to them to do the right thing and both of us move forward.“The biggest issue with the top management at Express is that they think everything casual which is so not right.“I will wait for communication from them and see what happens next.PML Daily reached Hamzah Juunju the club’s CEO about the matter and this is what he had to say.“Bisaso knows what to do, said Juunju.“We will not duel on him as we have other issues to resolve.Bisaso is currently back with Ssingo FC in the Airtel Masaza cup.He was in charge of Express for 15 league games, winning five (D5 L5).He helped the club retain its Uganda Premier League status on the last day with a 1-0 win over Masavu FC.Comments last_img
