October ends on another high note

first_imgIt was also the 18th double digit high recorded during the month, but that’s according to incomplete Environment Canada records which are missing the local airport weather station numbers for three days. The same records show the average high for the month was 10.6 degrees, more than two degrees above the October norm of 8.2. The local weather station also recorded an above average amount of precipitation, as the October norm is only 25.8 millimetres. This year, unofficial records, based on Environment Canada’s daily readings, put the October total at 33.3 millimetres. However, that’s less than 25 percent, of the one hundred and 46 point five millimeters, recorded last October. That total last year also included 87.3 centimetres of snow, more than five times the norm of 16.5, and 25 times this year’s total of 3.8 all recorded on one day last Sunday. – Advertisement –last_img
