Edward WeishaarEdward William Weishaar, of Argonia, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Spring View Manor in Conway Springs at the age of 87.Edward was born the son of Elmer F. and Edith (Fitts) Weishaar on Friday, January 7, 1927 in Argonia.On May 12, 1971, Edward and Florence Elizabeth Schick were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated over 39 years of marriage before her death in 2010.Edward loved the land that he farmed with his family. He began farming with his parents and four brothers as a young child and continued well into his later years. Edward was also employed by Boeing and retired after 30 years of service. He was an inspector that received special security clearance, worked for the Paved Tigers and finished his career servicing Air Force One. Outside of work, he had many interests that included hunting, fishing, playing harmonica and racing Shelby Mustangs. Edward was a longtime member of the Masons, aircraft machinists union and the Argonia United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling with Florence in their motor home. They would â€œsnowbirdâ€ in Texas and Florida. Edward was an over comer that let nothing, not even polio, stop him from living a full life.Survivors include his son, Bradley Weishaar of Milan, daughter, Leasha Hughes and her spouse Theresa of Wichita, daughter, Kandy DeMayo and her spouse David of Wichita, brother, Charles Weishaar and his spouse Mary of Fall River, brother, Lloyd Weishaar and his wife Lee of Argonia, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and some very special and loving friends: Kathy and Wayne Peterson of Argonia and Carol Stansbury of Argonia.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers: Orwin and Milford Weishaar.Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Funeral services for Edward will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Argonia United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Milan Cemetery, Milan.A memorial has been established in his name and loving memory to the Spring View Manor, 412 South 8th Street, Conway Springs 67031.
