Fort Lauderdale Police Department hosts gun buy back

first_imgThe Fort Lauderdale Police Department, in conjunction with Mt. Olivet Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a gun buy back event on Sunday, October 8th from 11:00 A.M until 2:00 P.M.The event will take place at the Mt. Olivet Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 649 Northwest 15th Way in the City of Fort Lauderdale.Anyone interested in turning in a firearm at this event can do so without questions being asked.Depending on the condition of the firearm, individuals participating in the gun buy back will receive a monetary amount between $25.00 and $75.00 in Target gift cards.The amount of the awarded gift card will be based on the following schedule:$25.00 for small pistols (.22 to .38 caliber)$25.00 for any inoperable or rusted firearm$50.00 for handguns, semi-automatic pistols (.9mm to .45 caliber)$75.00 for Long guns (shotguns, rifles)Non-traditional firearms (i.e. airsoft or pellet guns) can be turned in, but will not be purchased.
